After five years on the race track, Need for Speed World is about to run its last lap. The free-to-play PC action racer will be permanently shutting down its servers on July 14th 2015. Purchases of SpeedBoosts will be disabled as of today.
When it launched 2010, Need for Speed World brought together best-in-class action racing with an unparalleled social experience on PC. However, five years on, we feel that the game no longer lives up to the high standard set by the Need for Speed franchise. The steady stream of live content kept our players engaged but unfortunately we were not able to keep pace with feature development. At this point, the major overhaul needed to bring the game up to speed is not viable for us, so after careful review we came to a decision to stop development and begin winding down support of Need for Speed World.
We’re still leaving Need for Speed World on for a couple more months. If you have a balance of in-game currency, we encourage you to spend it before July 14th. While you can spend the currency you already have, we are disabling the functionality to purchase SpeedBoost, as well as the ability to register new accounts, from now until the closing date.
It’s been a great ride. We would like to thank our community for a wonderful five years. We’re grateful for the time we spent together.

. Dopo cinque anni, Need For Speed World sta per compiere il suo ultimo giro di pista. Il gioco di corse Free to Play per PC verrà chiuso definitivamente il 24 luglio 2015. Gli acquisti degli speedboosts verranno da oggi disabilitati. Quando fu lanciato, nel 2010, Need for speed world ha raccolto in sé tutto il meglio dei giochi di guida con una ineguagliata esperienza sociale su PC. Comunque, dopo cinque anni, non riteniamo più che il gioco mantenga gli elevati standard posti dal Brand Need for Speed. Il flusso costante di contenuti ha tenuto i giocatori impegnati, ma non siamo più in grado di tenere il passo dello sviluppo di contenuti. A questo punto lo sforzo per tenere il gioco al passo non è sostenibile per noi, quindi siamo attentamente giunti alla conclusione di fermare lo sviluppo e iniziare la chiusura di Need For Speed World. Terremo aperto aperto Need For Speed World per altri due mesi. Se avete ancora dei crediti vi invitiamo a spenderli entro il 14 luglio. Mentre potete spendere I vostri crediti rimasti disabilitaremo la possibilità di acquistare speedboosts, come anche la possibilità di registrare nuovi account da ora fino alla chiusura. È stata una bella corsa (gioco di parole). Vogliamo ringraziare la nostra comunità per questi meravigliosi cinque anni. Siamo grati per il tempo che abbiamo speso assieme. ç_ç Ma dai ma che diamine..... per me quel gioco aveva ottime potenzialità non era male! mi dispiace solo per coloro che avevano fatto chissà quanti progressi nel gioco, che spreco

Io l'ho scoperto in agosto ed ora sto ancora piangendo per questo gioco ed tutto ma era abbastanza bello come gioco
